All photographs displayed on this website were taken surreptitiously. Though I practice what might be called "street photography," in a long tradition of taking photographs of people in public places, I am not particularly interested in the "street" as context. I am more drawn to an offhanded, candid form of portraiture that requires a public setting.
I do not know why I am drawn toward certain people, their faces; I choose only those strangers with whom, for one reason or another, I feel an emotional connection, a strange form of intimacy that moves me.
